About Co-Hive’s Script to Screen Program

Script to Screen is a program, uniquely created by Co-Hive for participants who are passionate about exploring the Media and Entertainment industry. Over 20 weeks, for 2 days each week, participants learn about: 

  • Hands-on training in multimedia production, creative storytelling, acting, set design, podcasting. and special effects makeup.
  • Gaining on-set production experience by working on commercials, assisting professionals, and supporting professional shoots.
  • Exploring career pathways in film, TV, and digital media through exciting excursions and guest speaker sessions
  • Building your media portfolio and showcase your completed project to industry professionals at the end-of-term performance

About the Role

As the Script to Screen Program Facilitator, you will deliver an engaging, hands-on program which builds confidence, creativity, and practical skills in our participants. You will be able to identify strengths of each participant, understand their goals and reasons for doing this program, and embed these within the program. You will have extensive industry experience in film and media and ideally have experience in facilitating programs with young adults and diverse learners.  

Programs are delivered at the Alexandria hub on Monday and Tuesday, from 9am-3pm. Additional programming time will be required. You will facilitate small groups (up to 15 participants), with Program Assistants supporting individual needs.

You will play a key role in creating a positive and supportive learning environment where participants can build independence, work-readiness, and a pathway towards a future in the media and entertainment industry.

We’re Looking For Someone With:

  • Experience and knowledge of the Media and Entertainment industry
  • Experience delivering group learning or capacity-building programs (ideally for people with disability or in education/community settings)
  • Strong digital and planning skills — confident using tools like Google Workspace, Canva, and AI
  • The ability to adapt content and communication to different learning styles
  • A participant-focused mindset that is empathetic, inclusive, and empowering
  • A creative, proactive approach with a commitment to high standards
  • A passion for innovation, inclusion, and lifelong learning

About the Music Program

The Co-Hive Music Program (known as The Hive Band) is a new and exciting program, which has been created to give our musically talented participants the chance to come together to make music, build friendships, and perform as a group. They play a variety of instruments including drums, guitar and saxophone. This is about gathering a group of young adults who have a passion for music, they would like to collaborate in a Hive Band and perform to others. The Hive Band is on a Monday from 3.30pm - 5.30pm.

The program is structured around accessible and inclusive sessions that give participants the opportunity to:

  • Explore rhythm, voice, and instrument skills in a supportive group setting.
  • Build confidence through rehearsal and performance.
  • Develop social and teamwork skills by collaborating on songs and setlists.
  • Experience the buzz of performing for audiences at Co-Hive events and in the community.

About the Facilitator Role

As the Facilitator, you will:

  • Lead up to 10 participants in weekly rehearsals.
  • Prepare and deliver structured, engaging sessions that balance learning, practice, and fun.
  • Tailor activities to different levels of ability and interest, ensuring everyone has a role to play.
  • Build participants’ confidence and performance skills, supporting them to share their music at community events.

Commitment: Program is delivered 2 hours per week on a Monday, 3.30pm - 5.30pm

About the Dance Fitness Program

Dance Fitness is a brand new program, delivered for 2 hours every Thursday from 3.30pm - 5.30pm. It is designed for our participants, aged 17-35 with low support needs disabilities, who love to dance, want to be active, and love being part of the Co-Hive community. Dance Fitness Program is delivered at our Alexandria hub for up to 10 participants.

The program is structured around fun, accessible, and inclusive sessions that allow participants to experience:

  • Different dance styles and fitness activities in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Improved physical wellbeing, stamina, and body awareness.
  • Opportunities for teamwork, self-expression, and social interaction.

About the Facilitator Role

As the Facilitator, you will:

  • Commit to delivering the program for the full 10 weeks on a Thursday from 3.30pm - 5.30pm.
  • Connect with and lead a group participants in inclusive and engaging dance fitness sessions
  • Bring experience and expertise to prepare and deliver an engaging program.
  • Differentiate sessions to meet a range of abilities with low support needs, ensuring accessibility for participants with diverse needs.
  • Encourage confidence, peer connection, and a love of movement through music, rhythm, and group activity.

Animal Care Facilitator

About the Animal Care Pathways Program 

One of our most successful and exciting programs is Animal Care Pathways. This is a one-of-a-kind, 20-week program (two days per week on Thursday & Friday) designed for participants with a passion for animals who want to explore career pathways, gain confidence, and build the foundational knowledge required for further study or work. It is not a TAFE qualification, but a unique stepping stone that opens doors. The program was created to remove barriers for young adults with disability who aspire to work or study in the animal care industry but struggle with confidence, networks, or experience. 

The impact so far has been remarkable:

  • Participants have progressed to Certificate II and III in Animal Care.
  • Others have secured work experience placements in the industry.
  • Co-Hive has built strong relationships with animal care providers, making the sector more inclusive and accessible.

About the Facilitator Role 

As the Facilitator, you will:

  • Educate up to 10 participants, with Program Assistants supporting you to ensure every participant receives the guidance they need.
  • Take responsibility for lesson preparation and delivery, using our existing framework while bringing your knowledge and experience to adapt and improve the program.
  • Provide a balance of theory and practical experiences that engage participants with diverse learning needs.
  • Connect participants to industry networks, further study, and work experience opportunities.
