Our Why
The cliff edge is real. Co-Hive is the....
When school ends for a young adult with mild disability, the support system disappears overnight. No routine, no community, no pathway. What replaces it is nothing.
This cohort falls through every gap — too capable for high-support NDIS services, not yet equipped for mainstream employment. Without intervention, 34% remain unemployed long-term. Five in six rely on family or welfare.
Co-Hive is the response.
The missing middle
Too capable for high-support services. Too vulnerable for mainstream programs.
$77,000/year family burden
Average unpaid care cost per family after school ends.
72% co-occurring mental health
Autistic adults with at least one mental health condition — chronically underserved.
Meet The Team
We’re here to break barriers, spark growth, and back young adults with disability to thrive — in work, in life, and beyond.
Kim Moddel

Kim Moddel
For over twenty years, Kim has championed disability and inclusion in education, with a strong focus on supporting young people as they transition from school to adult life.
After seeing too many young adults left behind once they left the classroom, Kim founded Co-Hive to change that. She leads a dedicated team committed to creating real opportunities, shifting expectations, and building a future where young adults with disability can thrive through education, employment, and independence.
Devina Solanki

Devina Solanki
Devina brings a deep commitment to disability inclusion, with leadership experience across both Australia and the UK, including senior roles at Guide Dogs UK. She has worked alongside Kim for over five years, united by a shared mission to close the gap in employment and independence for young adults with disability.
Devina plays a pivotal role in shaping Co-Hive’s programs and strategy, making sure young people are supported to thrive beyond school through meaningful work, real-world skills, and the confidence to lead their own lives.
