Module 1
Introduction to the Sports & Fitness Industry
Industry overview, history of sport, inclusion, globalisation, and major event participation.
Module 2
Exploring the Industry in Practice
Nutrition, mental health, emerging sports, gym careers, Sydney Olympic Park excursion.
Module 3
Health, Nutrition & Performance in Sport
Learn nutrition basics, healthy food comparison, hydration, build weekly lifestyle plan.
Module 4
Working in Children's Sport & Recreation
Learn coaching, deliver sessions, gain First Aid/WWCC, start work experience placements.
Semester 2

20 July - 18 December 2026
Prepare for Employment · Work experience begins
Module 5
Strength, Conditioning & Personal Training
Strength principles, PT program design, gym operations, excursion to gym and fitness centre to observe PT sessions.
Module 6
Sport Coaching & Community Programs
Learn coaching techniques, club operations, run a sport session, practice leadership.
Module 7
Sports Administration & Event Management
Learn sport administration, event planning logistics, run a Co-Hive sport event.
Module 8
Work Experience & Employment Pathways
Resume readiness, work placements, TAFE pathways, employment pathway planning and celebration.
Work Experience begins in Semester 2.
Work experience begins in Semester 2 at Centennial Parklands, nurseries and local landscaping businesses, with facilitator support fading as independence grows.
