Module 1
Build Core Skills
Industry Knowledge & Skills: Explore gardening, landscaping, and sustainability — including horticulture, bushland care, soil conservation, and park-ranger roles. Learn how recycling, food rescue, and reuse programs support sustainable employment.
Technology & Innovation: Explore how smart irrigation, composting sensors, and recycling apps are transforming environmental work.
Financial Literacy: Learn how to budget for tools, materials, and eco-friendly projects, understand pay rates, and plan for seasonal or community-based work.
Module 2
Prepare for Employment
Volunteer and Community: Volunteer at events, fun runs, or local leisure centres while learning from others how volunteering can lead to employment and connection.
Project: Community Garden: Plan, design, and maintain the Co-Hive Community Garden, focusing on edible gardening, composting, native plants, irrigation, and sustainable materials.
Industry Insights & Excursions: Visit nurseries, garden centres, bush-care sites, and sustainability organisations to meet professionals and see how green practices create jobs.
Work Experience & Workplace Confidence: Gain real experience in nurseries, landscaping teams, environmental organisations, and sustainability projects. Learn safe work practices, professional behaviour, and strong teamwork while working outdoors.
Module 3
Explore Future Pathways
Open Employment: Explore job opportunities in gardening, landscaping, nurseries, and sustainability projects, as well as options for small eco-focused businesses. Co-Hive will support you with applications, interviews, and developing the skills needed to gain and maintain outdoor or environmental roles.
Tertiary Education: Tour horticulture & sustainability training providers to explore future study pathways & industry-recognised qualifications.
