Module 1
Pet Ownership
Build knowledge of pet health and nutrition to support responsible pet care.
Develop animal communication skills through handling, training and grooming.
Gain practical experience in dog training, walking and grooming.
Module 2
Animal Welfare & Rescue
Discover shelter operations and animal adoption through real-world experiences.
Connect with pet advocacy organisations and understand their role in animal welfare.
Get involved in community education and initiatives promoting responsible pet ownership.
Module 3
Wildlife - Welfare Rescue
Explore wildlife rescue operations and the work involved in animal rehabilitation.
Build awareness of wildlife protection organisations and their impact.
Learn about wildlife rehabilitation and ways to support local conservation efforts.

Module 4
Animal Care Foundations
Review industry, Five Animal Welfare Needs, safety, hygiene; introduce wildlife and zoo sectors.
Module 5
Wildlife & Conservation
Covers native animals, wildlife rescue, zoo careers; create conservation awareness campaign.
Module 6
Reptiles & Exotic Animals
Learn about reptile species, safe handling, habitat design, and exotic pet ownership.
Module 7
Farm Animals & Agriculture
Explore farm animals, agriculture careers, sustainable farming practices, including excursion.
Work Experience Possibilities
Work experience xwith an animal welfare placement and extends in Semester 2 across shelters, vet clinics, zoos and pet service businesses.
