Module 1
Build Core Skills
Independent Living Skills: Learn the everyday skills that help you manage your home, routine, safety, hygiene, cooking basics, organisation, sustainable living practices, and understanding different types of housing.
Choice-Making & Advocacy: Learn to make informed decisions, understand your rights and responsibilities, solve problems, speak up for what you need, and connect with advocacy organisations working to improve housing access for people with disability.
Relationships & Communication:Build skills for living with others — boundaries, emotional safety, conflict resolution, communication, and navigating tricky or uncomfortable situations.
Technology & Innovation: Explore everyday tech that supports independence: budgeting apps, transport apps, safety tools, online bookings, reminder systems, and roommate-finder apps designed for shared living.
Financial Literacy: Learn about budgeting, bills, rent, groceries, saving, planning ahead, and making confident financial decisions when preparing for independence.
Module 2
Get Real Experience
Practical Application: Put your skills into practice in real settings: grocery shopping, using public transport, organising routines, planning meals, managing daily tasks, visiting housing services, and practising safe independence in the community.
Project Overnight Independence Experience: Complete a supervised overnight independence stay where you will practise packing, navigating, cooking, cleaning, managing routines, organising your space, and working safely with others.
